CHESSMASTER 5000 is the newest in the line of Chessmaster titles that started in 1986 with Chessmaster 2000. This version is designed for Windows 95, and has a new 32-bit engine.
Whether you’re already a bit of a gun at chess, or someone (like me) who knows the rules but not much else, Chessmaster 5000 has a lot to offer you. With artificial intelligence that can be set from novice to champion, you can expect a real challenge.
Chessmaster 5000 has all the features you expect in a modern computer chess package. There are 23 different chess sets to use, including Mycenaean, Roman and Latin American. The chessboard is customisable too, and you can view it in flat 2D or 3D.

The original Civilization game by Microprose is still one of the most popular “God-games” around, even though it?s been out for years. Recently a multiplayer version called CivNet came out, but now, at last, Civilization II appears!
Civilization II is almost exactly the same as the original in terms of gameplay. You start off in 4000BC with a group of settlers. These settlers will build a village, and from here on you control the development of the civilization until the 21st century, or until humankind reaches the stars.
